Get to know the team – Anne Drugnick
Blog
At Secondsight, we are passionate about providing the best possible services to our clients. We believe that achieving a good client experience starts with our employees and this is reflected in our recent IIP Platinum award.
Providing a positive working experience for employees can improve wellbeing, boost morale and ultimately increase productivity. And we should know, as helping businesses to improve their employees’ wellbeing is what we do best!
Don’t just take our word for it, here’s what Anne Drugnick, our Head of Health and Protection, has to say about her role, what client experience means to her and what life at Secondsight is like.
Can you describe your job role?
My role is Head of Health & Protection. The role involves leading the Health & Protection team to the next stage of our evolution – exciting times!
What does a typical day look like for you?
I am a very early riser so if it’s light enough, I like to walk my 3 dogs at 5.30am. I often speak to Helen Whitcombe who leads our Operational team, alongside Ali Bourne, Health & Protection Admin Manager as they both also like to start their days early. My day involves looking after lots of our clients, alongside the wider team. Clients are always our priority, and I pride myself on this.
What would you say the best thing is about your role at Secondsight?
I love the “start up” feel of a small team like Health & Protection, as you can influence and help to shape the business. The client work is actually my strength in my view and the bit I enjoy the most.
What would you say is a work-related accomplishment that you’re proud of?
If the team look forward to their working day, I feel I have achieved something.
What would you say led you to a career in employee services?
I dropped out of University as I hated it, and I was worried my parents would make me go back, so I took the first job I got at the job centre which happened to be for a pensions business.
What does a good client experience mean to you?
I believe our job is to demystify Health & Protection for our clients – it’s rewarding when you see the penny drop.
What’s the best thing about working with your colleagues and team?
I love a good debate, so bringing the team together and chewing things over is the best bit.
When you’re not looking after our clients, what can you be found doing?
Walking and training my 3 dogs. I work in the evenings for a dog behaviourist running puppy and junior training classes. My poor husband doesn’t get much of a look in!
What is the best piece of advice that you’ve ever received?
Don’t get drunk at the Christmas party (from my Mum).
Do you have anywhere on your must visit list?
Hawaii.
