Businesses must do more to support employees’ mental health

Three quarters (75%) of businesses surveyed by Secondsight said they were offering mental health support to their workforce, but more than half (51%) of employees felt their employer should be offering more.
Matthew Mitten, Partner at Secondsight said “Many people keep their mental health problems hidden, yet they’d have no problem telling their employer about a physical complaint they were experiencing. Sadly, this is a continuing problem.”
Mark Bingham, Partner at Secondsight, added “Senior management should lead by example, and highlight to employees the importance of taking care of their wellbeing.”
